EAST NASHVILLE

Kidtown

At Midtown East, we do more than just take care of our children.

We see our ministry to families as one of the primary ways to be agents of gospel renewal for the glory of God and the good of Nashville. On Sundays, we work to create a safe, consistent, gospel-centric environment for children that we call Kidtown. Kidtown is available during the 9:30am service at Riverside Revival on Sunday mornings. Come and see how we’re planting seeds of truth in the hearts of the next generation.

OUR GOALS

Join kids in worship, wonder, and learning.

Having Fun

We want our kids to want to come to church. Our programming prioritizes joy and allows kids to build relationships with both peers and caring adults that deepen their connection to Christ.

Learning About Jesus

Children are always learning. From the infants in the Green Room to the elementary kids in their catechism class, we create opportunities for kids to soak up the gospel through age-appropriate activities.

Being Safe

Safety is a prerequisite for joy and learning. Our trained and background-checked volunteers and staff are equipped to ensure a positive and protected experience each week.

Age Groups

Care and teaching for every stage of childhood.

6 Months to 1-Year-Olds
Kidtown starts at 6 months. This class is for babies who are not walking yet and need more individualized attention. This is also a great space for those kids who need a quiet place to nap during church!
Ones
Our next age group is for kids who are walking. These kids enjoy play time with teachers and friends!
Twos
In this class, kids begin to become familiar with scripture and who God is through lessons centered around how God is wise, God is good, God is faithful, and how to pray. We also start to worship together as a class!
Threes
In this class, we dive deeper into Bible stories centered around how God is wise, God is good, God is faithful, and how to pray. Kids learn more about worship and have lots of fun playing together and creating art!
Pre-K
In this class, we continue learning about how God is wise, God is good, God is faithful, and how to pray while also getting a better picture of the overarching story of the Bible. Kids enjoy class games, worship time, and crafts!
Elementary (K-5th Grade)
Our elementary classes worship in the main service with the adults. Then, they are dismissed to their classes, where we dive deeper into the overarching story of the Bible. We go through the Bible together and create a safe space where kids can ask questions. Through games, art, and fun, we create a community centered around the love of God!
6th-12th Graders
6th graders and above are part of our Youth ministry at Midtown, and they meet with other students on Sunday afternoons. Visit our Youth page to learn more.

Drop off

The Kidtown entrance is located on the south side of the building, opposite the main parking lot. When parents show up, they go to designated kiosks to check in their child, receiving a name tag and parent badge. Then, parents escort each child to their classrooms, dropping off their child with the printed name tag and keeping the parent badge for pick up.

Please note that kindergarteners through 5th graders will join us in the service. After the first couple of songs, they are dismissed to their classrooms.

Pick up
Dropdown icon

After each service, parents pick up their children from their classrooms. A parent badge is required to pick up your child. After verifying a match, parents can bring their child back into the sanctuary or out onto the playground to play.

For those with multiple children, please keep the badge for each child’s pick-up. If you have lost your parent badge, you must retrieve a new one from the kiosk.

Safety and security

Leaving your children in a new place with new people is a big deal. We take that responsibility seriously. All of our volunteers are background checked and trained. Our policies and procedures promote child safety and respect for children and their bodies. Children are never alone with an adult.

Kidtown is for children who are well, so please be sure that your kids are free of the following symptoms for 24 hours: fever, runny nose, vomiting, cough, throat infections, diarrhea, or any contagious illness.
