Welcome to Midtown. We don’t just come to church—we are the church.

What we believe

Midtown has always had a heart for the non-religious, spiritually marginalized, church-burned, and doubters who don’t fit into the mainstream church. We are not slick or performance oriented. We thrive in the honest, messy struggle of being people who are unfinished. We work hard to bring real life into our theology. Shedding the skin of tradition and phony religious ceremony, we seek to embrace vulnerability—and bring the gospel into real life.

Our history

2000

Twenty-five years ago, Midtown Fellowship started as a church of 15 people in a living room dreaming about the future.

2001

Midtown Fellowship began meeting in downtown Nashville, growing to over a thousand people.

2007-2020

That growth led to a pivotal decision–one that has defined who we are today. Instead of building a mega-church, we multiplied by planting smaller, community-focused churches that remain connected across the city.

Today

Midtown now has 6 locations across Nashville: 12 South, Granny White, East Nashville, West Nashville, Crieve Hall, and Napier.

Future

Our vision is that every Midtown congregation would plant churches throughout Nashville, for the sake of the gospel. We’re doing this through Divergent615, a program that gives shape to this vision.
